However the shards are always in the same places just go to where they are by following the walkthrough collect them all and the quest marker will update properly once you have the four shards and point you at Bthalft. Ive had this quest show up with no markers to the shards or all markers in place. A way to fix either bug above is to reload a save in which you have not started the Dawnguard questline then drop The Aetherium Wars and any crystal shards if you have obtained any and pick the book back up and read it.

However if youre trying to clear out your quest journal youll need to finally figure out whats up with Arknthamz. -The Dwarven Ruins and the Lost Age House Ruins can be used as a player home—–CHANGE LOG V76 Fixed a lot of seams in Whiterun dungeon —–V71 Named all Ruins and Dungeons so they dont say Marker Storage Unit.
